ICMR School of Public Health (ICMR-SPH) is the academic division of ICMR-National Institute of Epidemiology. ICMR-SPH offers training for two-year Master of Public Health in Epidemiology & Health Systems and M.Sc. in Biostatistics, PhD in Epidemiology and Biostatistics, certificate program in field epidemiology and short courses. The MPH (EHS) is a professional degree in advanced field epidemiology awarded by Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute of Medical Sciences and Technology, Thiruvananthapuram, since 2011. The M.Sc. (Bio-statistics) degree is awarded by Periyar University, Tamil Nadu, since 2016. The PhD in Epidemiology and Biostatistics is geared towards students and professionals who wish to pursue a career in teaching and/or research in universities or research organizations. The institute is recognised for PhD in Epidemiology by The Tamil Nadu Dr MGR Medical University and University of Madras and for PhD in Biostatistics by University of Madras. ICMR-SPH offers two-year certificate course in field epidemiology as part of the India-Epidemic Intelligence Service programme (EIS) in collaboration with National Centre for Disease Control, New Delhi and CDC-India. The division also runs several short-term courses on research methods, public health surveillance, outbreak investigation, and epidemiological data analysis.
